Priorities
Nebraska’s students deserve strong schools, supported teachers, and leadership that is honest, practical, and focused on results. If elected to the State Board of Education, I will stay grounded in what truly matters for our classrooms and our communities.
Strong Academics and Literacy
Every student deserves a solid foundation in reading, writing, and critical thinking. Literacy is not optional. It is the gateway to all learning. I will support evidence-based instruction, early intervention, and accountability measures that help schools improve outcomes without losing sight of the whole child.
Supporting and Retaining Great Teachers
Our schools cannot succeed without talented, respected educators. I will advocate for policies that strengthen recruitment, improve working conditions, and support long-term retention. Teachers should feel heard, valued, and equipped to do their jobs well.
Student Mental Health and Well-being
Academic success and student well-being go hand in hand. Schools must be places where students feel safe, supported, and able to learn. I will support thoughtful, responsible approaches to mental health that respect families while ensuring students have access to appropriate resources.
Transparency and Accountable Governance
Public education belongs to the public. Decisions should be made in the open, guided by clear data and honest communication. I believe in transparent processes, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring communities understand how and why decisions are made at the state level.
Data-Driven, Practical Solutions
Good intentions are not enough. Policy must be grounded in reliable data, measurable outcomes, and what actually works in classrooms. I will prioritize solutions that are practical, sustainable, and focused on real student success, not political ideology.
Elevating Student Voice
Students are the reason our education system exists, yet their voices are often missing from policy conversations. I believe students deserve a seat at the table. Listening to their experiences helps create smarter, more effective decisions that reflect what is really happening in our schools.
Preparing Students for Life Beyond Graduation
Our responsibility does not end at graduation. Whether students pursue college, careers, or technical pathways, schools must prepare them for the real world. I will support policies that strengthen academic readiness, career education, and lifelong learning opportunities.
